On 23 June 2016, the UK held a referendum on its membership of the EU. 51.89% of citizens opted to leave the EU and on 31 January 2020 the UK left the EU. In the aftermath of leaving the EU, the incumbent government announced an immigration policy for the EEA nationals. This was in the form of Settled and Pre-settled status. Mr. Hashmi’s achievements in academia have been outstanding. He began his legal journey by enrolling at Bachelor of Laws programme at the University of Peshawar, after successfully completing the law degree in 1999, he then travelled to the United Kingdom, studied Law at the College of Law and BPP University London. Finally, in 2008 Mr Hashmi stepped into the practical legal world, qualifying as a solicitor of senior courts of England and Wales.

Due to the divorce, children suffer as they may not be able to see their other parent. The most satisfying moments of Mr. Hashmi’s career have come from uniting the bereaved children with their parents. Mr. Hashmi has sought hundreds of Child Arrangement Orders in favour of the mourning parents.

Mr. Hashmi has defended victims of domestic violence under the perimeters of law. He has successfully tendered incalculable amounts of non-molestation orders; these have guaranteed safety for the victim.
